Martina Pizzigoni (She/They)
Martina Pizzigoni (Italy, *1998) is a multimedia artist.
They obtained a BA in New Media Art Technologies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, with a period of study at TU - Technological University Dublin. In 2021, they graduated with an MA in Cultural Project management at the Università Cattolica and Politecnico di Milano. Their artistic practice focuses on creating interactive experiences, while the main interest of their research is the context in which we live, with the social and anthropological implications that characterise our digitally dominated society. They are attending the MA Interface Culture programme at the Kunstuniversität Linz, Austria.
Their latest exhibitions include the WIP Festival 2024, Nicosia (CY) Elektron 2024 festival, Esch-sur-Alzette (LUX), and Ars Electronica 2023/2024, Linz (AT), where they received an honorary mention in the Campus Awards for their artwork (Very) Neural System.
They are 1/2 of the artistic and curatorial duo MAalex (Alessia Fallica & Martina Pizzigoni).

Involvement in the project Co.So! Artisti per il Sociale 2024. Conceived by the association ETRARTE, brings artists-in-residence to fragile communities. MAalex has been invited to collaborate in their project with a residency/study period where had the opportunity to observe Thomas Braida ‘s residency at Villetta 2.0. Afterwards, it was hosted at Casa Netural (17th September) for a presentation of its work.
